Elias out of the ICU!

Great news! Elias is out of ICU. His recovery is progressing wonderfully and is now able to have visitors. He is still tired and in pain so we may have to give him a break from visits here and there, but he’d be happy to start seeing his friends. Please make sure visiting children understand that there are burn victims and so forth and to be sensitive to that and understand that there are amazing children here and to never judge a book by its cover. He may have about 2 visitors at a time, and others can play in the play room while they wait. He is on the 3rd floor, North Wing, #N 306.
Here are picture of Elias awake and moving out of ICU into room 306. He is very tired, but has trouble sleeping with all the various beeps and noises that the hospital makes. Hopefully, he’ll sleep well tonight. Uncle Matt is on his way from Fresno and should be here soon.

It’s great to see him smiling. I am sure he would love some solid sleep. Hospitals are the worse place for that! If the Doctor okays it, foam earplugs and a blackout mask for the eyes really help! How are you doing Kelly and Jon? Are you guys sleeping okay?

Praise God. Elias, Inge and I are both pleased to see you out of ICU. I too am recovering from an operation performed about three weeks ago. I had a Hallux Valgus corrected, that is, the enlarged joint on the big toe of my right foot was removed so that within a few weeks I can wear shoes again.
Snuff for now. Don’t bother the nurses too much. I like your new hair style, reminds me of when I entered the Army.

Elias,
You look terrific!!!!! We are all so happy that things are going so well for you. We are so sorry to hear about your pain. I am sure your doctors and nurses will get that figured out soon. Your mother wouldn’t stand for anything else!
I have found music from headphones (ear pieces these days) really helpful when having dental work done. It gives me something intense to focus on other than my discomfort. The comparison I am sure is inaccurate, but music might help. If nothing else it might be a way to get some new CD’s….hee hee hee.
